I LOVE photo booths. Seriously. In the past year, I have attended three weddings that had photo booths. At my cousin's wedding, my sisters, cousins, and I squeezed into the photo booth and took a bazillion pictures (I'm only exaggerating slightly. We took a lot of pictures!). I cherish the photos we took that day, because I rarely get to spend time with my cousins. Every time I look at the photos, they bring back a wave of happy memories.
One of my key goals for my graduation party is to have a photo booth. I want to document the special day in a unique fashion. Because I'm planning my party on a very limited budget, I've decided to create my own photo booth rather than hiring a company to run one. My photo booth will be extremely simple. I will probably tape a bed sheet to a wall and ask my siblings/friends to take turns taking pictures of guests. Then, I will post the pictures on Facebook instead of printing off copies.
Desire'e Martinelli of Party Pleasantries kindly offered to help me reach my goal by sending a kit containing her homemade retro photo booth props. The kit includes Mr. and Mrs. Beaver hair, bow ties, mustaches, glasses, and funky hats.
I was immediately impressed when I received the package in the mail. The props were packaged in a nice box and layered with sheets of tissue paper and packing bubbles. Desire'e Martinelli's package is truly the best I've seen in online shipping. This may seem like an inconsequential detail, but I believe it is one of the most important details that consumers should look at when shopping online. If a seller values his or her product enough to wrap it protectively, then the product is likely high quality.
Each of the photo booth props is made of sturdy card stock and 12" wooden dowels. The whimsical patterns on the card stock are super fun. The card stock designs are cut out by hand. Desire'e also offers to alter the color of the mustaches to match your hair color.
I couldn't resist taking a few pictures to see how the props will look. I had a great time and am so excited to see the final results of my photo booth project on my graduation day.
Toupee and bow tie? I think Mr. Beaver rocked this style better than I. I should probably stick with the Mrs. Beaver hairpiece next time. :)
Bow tie! Aren't the stripes fun!
Celebrating my inner nerd.
If you are looking for props to use at your party, I highly recommend Desire'e's retro kit. The props are fun, high quality, and very affordable. By creating your own photo booth and buying Desire'e's props, you can save big bucks AND document your party in a unique way.
