Food Art Friday // Snow Ice Cream

At my house, making snow ice cream is one our favorite winter activities. There's something magical about trecking outside with your loved ones, searching for the cleanest pile of snow (this is difficult if you have pets), and shivering as you mix the sweet treat. Although snow ice cream may not taste quite like Ben & Jerry's, the memories created while mixing the dessert are twice as sweet.

Today, I am going to show how you can make a delicious batch of snow ice cream with four simple ingredients. Let's get started!
Ingredients:
4 cups Fresh Snow
 1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Cream or Milk
1/4 cup Sugar

First, measure out your ingredients.
Stir the whipping cream, vanilla, and sugar together in a large bowl.
Venture out into the snow and scoop up some sparkly, white snow. Although it may be tempting, don't pack the snow into the measuring cup. If you allow your snow to be loose and fluffy, it will be much easier to mix in the other ingredients.

Grab a partner to help you mix the snow with the other ingredients. Egg beaters and wooden spoons are great mixing utensils. Plastic spatulas also work nicely.
Stir. Stir. Stir. Make sure that the sugar/whipping cream/vanilla mixture gets distributed evenly.
The final and most important step is to test out your ice cream. You may want to add more sugar, depending on how sweet you like your ice cream. If you are feeling creative, you may want to try different substitutions for the cream and the vanilla. For instance, if you would like lemon flavored ice cream, use lemon extract instead of vanilla extract. If you would like cake flavored ice cream, use almond extract. Substitute coconut milk for the cream and sugar if you want to create a healthy alternative.

Don't forget to add some toppings! :)

Have a fantastic day!
